Kidd.O team discovered the Oma Tila/My room dollhouse during Helsinki Design Week and it was instant love for all of us! It is designed by talented Tuulia Penttilä whose work I had already admired in various Lokal exhibitions. Now the beautiful dollhouse can be seen, touched and purchased in the wonderful Lokal shop in Helsinki as part of the current White exhibition or via Lokal’s online shop.
As the package description says, it is a functional interior design hobby for children and young teenagers. The platform for the 12m² interior is in the scale of 1:10. It is made of beautiful wood and can be assembled as a 3D jigsaw puzzle. A range of cool accessories to decorate and furbish the house can be added, my favorite feature being the tiny ceramic tiles for the floor! A booklet with decoration ideas is also included in the package. The possibilities are endless and given its fantastic quality and durability, the little house can be remodelled as often as one wants.
As all good kids design, this little house can be proudly displayed in any living room; after all it would not be fair for the adults if the kids keep it all for themselves!
